The Svoge factory is the client’s main production facility in Bulgaria. It is located 100 km north of the capital Sofia. The facility includes 27 mixed-use buildings with a total gross area of 67,300 sq m. The site measures approximately 90,000 sq m. Most of the production units are 25-35 years old and need renovation. The increasing volume of production demands new facilities. Watts was appointed to ensure the precision of data processing, measured surveys and production of technical drawings is achieved. The monitoring of this process involves measuring, producing and the review of the complex floor plans and machine equipments.
Watts was appointed by the client to provide a full geo-survey on the client’s factory site and all 27 buildings, including detailed drawings of the main production building and all the production lines inside. Watts provided advice on the future renovation and extension. The strategy is focused on increasing the capacity of the production facilities by building new and renovating the old buildings.
Future Phases will include demolition of some of the old buildings, refurbishment and expansion. Design and construction of several new factory and office buildings is expected to start at the end of 2009.
