Watts was commissioned to advise the client in the proposed acquisition of West Riding House. The property comprises 7,500 sq m of
office accommodation, 7,500 sq m of retail accommodation and a multi-storey car park. The property was inspected and a report was prepared,
detailing the condition of the property together with added advice covering: statutory compliance; asset management; maintenance planning and
options for proposed alterations; and major development works at the site.
The client proposed to aquire the freehold interest in the property, which is subject to tenancy agreements. Watts was instructed to
provide and coordinate extensive technical due diligence services. Watts advised the client on the refurbishment and new build
redevelopment options, and commented on procurement and cost control of the development. Watts coordinated all structural
engineering, services engineering and asbestos surveys and reports.
